Resort is situated over the peak bearing the same name in North-Western Rila
mountain, 92 km far from Sofia and 40 km far from Borovets. The complex operates
all year round. It is the main staring point towards the most famous sites in
Bulgaria, namely Zliat Zub, Malyovitsa, Lovnitsa, Kupenite, etc
There are several ski runs and ski sports infrastructure within the region.
The accommodation facilities are not very well developed here.
The Malyovitsa Hotel hosts the greatest number of beds (150) as well as a restaurant,
a disco, a cafe, games hall, a souvenir shop, a ski- equipment rental and safekeeping
room (ask for contact info).
The Malyovitza Chalet (an old and a new building as well as wooden bungalows)
is situated at an hour-walk from the resort, against the stream of the Malyovitza
River, at over 2000 meters above sea level, where one can find accommodation
for little money and buy food. Malyovitsa is a famous place of the Bulgarian
alpinism and mountaineering, trekking and a natural base for alpine sports.
Along with the sublime mount of Malyovitza, a dozen Rila peaks rise within the
region, which turn the Malyovitza sub-part into the most preferred site of high-mountain
rock climbing and trekking tours in Bulgaria. Indeed, here are the highest Alpine
walls and the most difficult rock tours in the country.
