Balkan ski marathon will be held for the 9-th time on March 14-th, 2004. The competition is organized with and supported by Association "Marathon 96" - Sofia and "Bulgarian Federation Ski".

The event will take place in the resort "Pamporovo" which is located around 80 km South of the major city Plovdiv and about 230 km South-East of Sofia. This resort is one of the most famous and beautiful resorts in Bulgaria.

Organisers invite representatives from other countries. Organisers will pay the costs of hotel and food starting the afternoon of March 13-th through to noon on March 14-th. If participiants from one country are more than four, the additional people will need to pay their own expenses. These are around $ 22 US per day for hotel and meals.

Organisers also provide free transportation from Sofia to Pamporovo for all participiants. The bus wiil start form Sofia at 10 a.m. on March 13-th form the parking at "Vasil Levski" stadium. The return trip will be on March 14-th from the parking at hotel Perelik (Pamporovo) immediately after the prize giving ceremony.

Race Information
The race will start and finish at the winter stadium in Pamporovo resort.
The length of the racing track is 25 km. There will be a 50 km ski marathon race, a shorter 30 km race for men, women, junior, veterans over 40 and over 50 years old. Also will have a 12.5 km mass race for everyone.
In each race all participiants will start at the same time and all events are freestyle.
Prizes will be given to the best 10 in 50 km race and the best three in each of the 30 km races.
