At the first Parallel Giant Slalom of the LG Snowboard FIS World Cup the two Austrians Doris Guenther and Andreas Prommeger took home the victory. At the only race on German soil Austria’s Guenther won against Amelie Kober (GER) in the final.

Nicoliel Sauerbreij (NED) completet the podium on the third spot. On the men’s side Andreas Prommeger delegated Canada’s Matthew Morison on the second spot in a thrilling final. Third became Sylvain Dufour (FRA) at the first Parallel competition in Germany since five years.

In the final it came to the showdown between the World Cup leader Doris Guenther and the local hero Amelie Kober. Already in the first heat of the final Kober crashed and had to start the second heat with the maximum penalty time. Guenther didn’t give up this advantage in the last heat and took home her already fourth victory in this season:

"It’s always my goal to win. I try to get secure through the qualification before I concentrate on the final heats, which obviously works out pretty well for me this season“ so Guenther really happy. „Maybe this is the season of my life. There are still five competitions to come up and maybe I can be on top of the podium at the end of the season“

Guenther continues. But also Kober was all smiles: “I was so nervous today because all my friends were here. But I gave my best and I am super happy with the second place”.

Andreas Prommegger was overwhelmed about his first victory in the running season: “I feel so great. It was a really hard race with a little bit of luck for me in the end. The course was perfect, just as I like it.“ The by hundreds of a second beaten Canadian Morison: „It was a hard final. We both wanted to win badly, but Prommegger was on fire. I will work on and hope to win back the yellow jersey this season.”
