LONDON (Reuters) - Two women's slalom races will be held in Madonna (news - web sites) di Campiglio next Tuesday and Wednesday, World Cup organizers said Thursday.
The Italian resort is staging a men's floodlit slalom race Monday and the International Ski Federation (FIS) has decided to make the most of one of the few European resorts with good quality snow cover.
The start of the European racing season has been severely disrupted by warm weather and the FIS has been working overtime to reschedule races.
A women's downhill and super-G scheduled for Laax in Switzerland on December 20 and 21 have been moved to St Moritz, while races in France, the Czech Republic and Slovakia have been called off because of insufficient snow.
The Italian resort of Alta Badia will host women's and men's giant slalom races Saturday and Sunday, both having been moved from their original venues in the Czech Republic and France.
