World ski legends open the winter season in the best modern ski resort in Bulgaria

Over 2000 skiing fans and legendary ski figures gathered to open the winter season in the Bansko resort yesterday. A lot of businessmen, Bulgaria's Minister of Sports, Svilen Neykov, Bulgaria's most successful biathlete and the gold medalist from Beijing, Rumiana Neykova came to the Banderishka Poliana locality.
Skiing legends from the recent - Pirmin Zurbriggen, Bojan Krizaj, Paul Accola, Patrick Ortlieb, Peter Mueller, Hubert Strolz, Peter Popangelov and Marc Girardelli - past stood at the start of the parallel giant slalom, organized for the first time in Bansko.
The contest stirred a lot of emotions. The winner was the honorary citizen of Bansko, Marc Girardelli.
