. world ski news : Celebrations on the Streif and Ganslern - Goodbye until 21st - 23rd January 2011 - 26 ßíóàðè 2010 - 14:36
Masses of spectators, impressive TV images and three gigantic sport shows - these were the 70th Hahnenkamm-Races 2010.
The Ski Kings of Kitzbühel 2010 hail from Switzerland, Germany and Croatia. Didier Cuche was the first racer after Stephan Eberharter in 2002 to achieve a double win in Super-G and Downhill. The slalom on the Ganslern Slope was won by Felix Neureuther and Ivica Kostelic took the classic Hahnenkamm-Combination title home. Athletes from 27 nations fought for the Super-G, Downhill, Slalom and classic combination titles on fantastically prepared pistes. They performed a great show for tens of thousands of spectators with stunning weather adding to the tremendous atmosphere. Over 500 international media representatives reported on the Hahnenkamm-Races. 19 TV channels broadcast fascinating live images of the event, with another 30 stations screening reports from Kitzbühel. Young ski talents from six nations took part again this year in the Hahnenkamm Junior Race. Who knows, maybe we'll be seeing them again in years to come in the Ski World Cup?
Needy mountain farming families will benefit to the tune of 130.000 Euros, donated by the many famous participants who took part in the 13th KitzCharityTrophy, Athletes too have started a charity campaign - using the motto „Downhillers for Haiti" they are auctioning their start numbers to benefit of the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
The 70th Hahnenkamm-Races were fantastic. We're already looking forward to next year, when from the 21st - 23rd January 2011 the Mausefalle, Alte Schneise and Ganslern will be the meeting place for the world's best skiers and their amazing fans once again.
