. световни ски новини : The World Racing Academy is in the starting blocks - 16 Септември 2010 - 12:42
The World Racing Academy is a ski racing team put together of different nations, which markets and trains professionals and young skiers all in one team. The Academy's guiding principle of having professional skiers together on the same team with the youngsters seems to pay off as the World Racing Academy under the direction of Daniel Farner have been able to contract some really promising young skier for next season.
It all started with Urs Imboden (SUI), who started under the Moldovan flag and brought home some first successes. Under the coach and manager Hans Daniel Farner a team of World Cup and junior skiers from different nations was then put together.
Farner's concept to be successful in professional sports with small resources seems to be working out. In the 2009/2010 season, it was mostly skiers such as Urs Imboden, Christophe Roux, or Stephan Kogler, who wrote headlines, but there were also some young ones, such as the brothers Baruffaldi or Franz Brachner, who performed well on the FIS race level.
"Steffano Baruffaldi has won more than 20 FIS races and Urs Imboden finished the Slalom World Cup in 18th position. Many fans have supported us and the media presence was gigantic - our approach of having professionals in addition to youngsters works out and we are growing together into a professional team," says Hans Daniel Farner happily. "In the next winter we will focus even more on the professional cooperation with sponsors and suppliers as a next step for the success of the younger generation of skiers!" Farner adds.
