FREESTYLE SKI, MOGULS WORLD CUP. Kazakhstan's Yulia Galysheva bagged the first freestyle skiing World Cup victory of her career, scooping dual moguls gold in Meribel, France. The 18-year-old defeat Olympic gold medallist Hannah Kearney of the USA, who took gold last week in Finland, in the final to top the podium for the first time in her career.

Canada’s Justine DuFour-LaPointe rounded off the podium in third place while 2006 Olympic champion Jennifer Heil had to be continue with a sixth place finish.

In the men’s ranks, France’s Guilbaut Colas bagged his tenth career World Cup victory again defeating an American who won last time out in Finland.
This time it was Patrick Deneen, whose win in Finland was a career first, who took silver while Olympic bronze medallist Bryon Wilson, also of the USA, took third.
Alexandre Bilodeau, who won Canada’s first ever home soil Olympic gold medal in Vancouver in February, finished in fifth.

Norwegian girls from Kari Traa Ski Team ready for World Cup in Meribel
For the first time in several years, Norwegian girls will compete in the moguls World Cup. Amalie Herrlin Sørensen (18) Heming IL , Cecilie Nesse, (17) Bergen Freestyle Klubb, Hedvig Wessel,(15) Heming IL and Emilie Noel Amundsen (15) Aron Skiklubb are announced to compete in the FIS Freestyle World Cup in Méribel tomorrow, the Norwegian Ski Federation communicates. All four girls are part of Kari Traa ski team, a team we will see much more from the coming years. The goal is to build up a strong team for their home World Ski Championship in Voss 2013, and of course for the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi 2014.
After her successful career ended in 2006, Kari Traa started to recruit girls for her own moguls team. Today there are 25 girls from all parts of Norway being trained by the smiling Traa. Being on the podium in WSC 2013 and in Sochi 2014 are some of their ambitious goals. Last season the girls proved to be on the right track, being on the podium in the Europa Cup. Now it is time to compete against the Worlds best moguls skiers.
