ROLLER SKI WORLD CUP, Oroslavje, Croatia, 17.09. 2011. Today was the first day of FIS Rollerski World Cup finals in Oroslavje. On schedule was team sprint race.

First on the start were junior and senior women, 3x2 kilometers. In senior women race gold medal went to Russian team (Alisa Perchahova and Ksenija Konohova), silver for Croatia (Vedrana Malec and Nina Broznic) and bronze for Sweden (Hanna Seppas and Nina Lintzen).
In junior women race, another win for Russia (Marina Kozekaeva and Evgenia Feshina). Second place for Italia (Anna and Lea Bolzan) and third for Croatia (Nika Blazenic and Rea Rausel).
In junior men race, also on 3x2 kilometers, two laps before finish French team (Romain Claudon and Baptiste Noel) went in front. They have preserved their lead and won. Second place went to Italia (Marko Longon and Emanuele Becchis) and third was Russia 2 (Andrey Melikov and Aleksander Gavrilov).
Senior race (5x2 km) was very uncertain. Italy, Russia and Slovenia took turns in the lead until forlast circle. Slovenes pulled the race, the Russians are behind a second, and Italians five. But in the final round, Italians (Mirko Ceolan and Emanuele Sbabo) make up the gap and won first place ahead of Russia (Alexander Denisov and Vladimir Fedulov) and Slovenia (Anže Repansek and Matija Rimahazi).
Tomorrow we will race the sprint. Qualification are at 10.00h, a final at 11.00. After the race on closure of the World Cup, we'll have the ceremony of crystal globe presentation for the best athletes in this season.
