From 14th to 16th February bikers from all over Bulgaria will meet in Pamporovo resort, to join in the traditional snow bike race
MOUNTAINBIKE. From 14th to 16th February Pamporovo will host the fourth edition of the spectacular snow bike race - Winter Bike Duel!
The organizers from Concept Creative announced that so far more than 80 people from across the country have signed for participation in the non-traditional race, as well as several racers from Greece. Advance online registration continues until 13th February, and there will be on-site registration as well.
Traditionally, the race is held in two stages: qualifications - individual rounds for time to determine the starting positions and finals – where the start is in pairs, and the winner is determined by direct elimination.
The duel format of the competition ensures spectacular race clashes and the snow conditions often lead to unexpected outcomes. Basically, this is a very attractive and fun competition, which every year attracts bikers from all over Bulgaria to give a pleasant start to the upcoming racing season.
The news this year is that besides the three main categories (men, adolescents, women), the organizers have added one non-traditional category - Snowscoot / Skibike, to include all those who practise these two disciplines.
Another interesting thing is the track for the race, which this year will be positioned on the specialized four-cross track of Pamporovo Bike Park, which was built in the fall of last year and hosted the European Championship in the discipline.
On 20th March, the National Snowboard Cross Championship for 2014 will be held on the same track, and this is only the beginning of the big events for the year. A little later in the year, in July, the same track will host a round of the 4X Pro Tour, which is the most prestigious race in the world, and Pamporovo is one of the seven selected destinations for conducting the premier forum!
In the finish area of the race, which is located on the parade ground at the end of the "The small wall" track, there will be lots of music, refreshing beverages, as well as the Bushmills team that will keep the spirits high. In the evening on 15th February there will be a special "bike" party. During both days of the event there will be lots of emotions and surprises - free entrance and all are welcome!
Winter Bike Duel vol.4 is the first mountain bike race for 2014, happens with the support of the Municipality of Smolyan and Pamporovo AD and is expected to cause a great interest among the local bike scene and among all guests of the resort and the region. Especially for the participants in the competition there are attractive cash and merchandise prizes provided by the event sponsors - Monster Energy and the other sponsors of the event.
Host of the competition will be Hotel Perelik, which will offer special discounted prices to all participants and their companions.
We expect a weekend filled with lots of fun, smiles and strong emotions – better be there!
