SNOWBOARD PSL, 12.10.2007, Landgraaf (NED). They may have the same birthday (16th of November) but also 14 years of age difference: Amelie Kober (GER) and Mathieu Bozzetto (FRA) are the winners of the first parallel slalom in the 2007/2008 NOKIA Snowboard FIS World Cup, the former at 19 and the latter at 33.

In the ladies' final at the indoor event in the SnowWorld ski hall in Landgraaf (NED), the German Olympic silver medalist edged Heidi Neururer of Austria to defend her 2006 victory on the same 260-meter course. The local hero Nicolien Sauerbreij (NED) finished 3rd. On the men's side, Siegfried Grabner (AUT) missed his third consecutive victory as he finished only two hundredths of a second behind Bozzetto. In the battle for third, Marc Iselin (SUI) successfully competed against Zan Kosir (SLO).

Being able to repeat her 2006 victory in Landgraaf was a surprise for Amelie Kober. “During training, I was not so happy with my riding. In the beginning of the season, you never know how good you are. In addition, I have strong competitors in my own national team. But then, during the contest, a race dynamic developed and it went better and better. I'm happy that the season has finally kicked off!” said Kober after her career's second FIS World Cup win.
Mathieu Bozzetto was satisfied not only because of his 61st World Cup podium and the 32nd victory: “After last season, I was thinking of retiring. But during the summer, I was in such a good shape that I thought about giving it one more try. I have done so much for the sport that I wanted to have another chance on a new board brand. I'm so glad I decided this way.”
