According to the results of a recent survey by market research firm Promit on behalf of ‘Sponsors' magazine, Milka was the best-known winter sports brand in the 2010/2011 season. It has supported winter sports for several years and its long-term efforts seem to pay off.

Milka was one of the official partners of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2011 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GER) whilst supporting several FIS World Cup events last season. Milka also yields the so-called Milka Ski Girls team that includes Maria Höfl-Riesch (GER), Tina Maze (SLO), Ingrid Jacquemod (FRA), Sarka Zahrobska (CZE) and Michaela Kirchgasser (AUT).

28.7% of the survey respondents recalled Milka as sponsor of GAP 2011 in February. 24.3% furthermore associated Milka as sponsor of the Four-Hills-Tournament, even thought the brand is no longer an official event sponsor. However, Milka has partnered with ski jumper Martin Schmitt since 1999.

Another brand achieving good awareness levels according to the research is Swedish energy group Vattenfall that has recently made a large commitment to winter sports. According to the survey almost one in ten respondents mentioned Vattenfall as sponsor of the Four-Hills-Tournament while around five percent related the brand to the FIS Cross-Country World Cup and the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup tour.
