27 Октомври 2013 - 09:39 Lange reveals Tina Maze as new 2014 Icon!
BEAUTY. Following the launch of the Alpine Ski World Cup this Saturday on the Sölden glacier in Austria, LANGE has decided to reveal the name of the athlete who will represent the premium ski boot brand throughout the entire season. For the last nine years, LANGE has sought to honor the femininity of women skiers on the world circuit by giving them the opportunity, in a photo shoot, to express their personality and become an ICON.
Winner of the overall standings in the World Cup, as well as the crystal globe in Giant Slalom and Super G in 2013, with two amazing records to her credit: number of points (2,414 points) and number of podiums (24 podiums), Tina Maze will be this winter's LANGE ICON. "This is truly a new experience and being chosen as the LANGE ICON rather than simply a LANGE GIRL means a great deal to me. I simply try to be myself, but if people see you as an ICON, then that's a really special message. I feel very honored." After notching up 11 victories in 5 different disciplines last season, one World Champion title in Super G and two silver medals in Super Combined and Giant Slalom, Tina Maze is like the LANGE RS 140 ski boot, a powerhouse of performance and technical qualities.
However, the talented, perfectionist and dedicated Slovenian skier readily admits that she's not quite the angel she appears to be in the photo: "I would like to be like that, but I don't lead a normal enough life. So it was nice to have the chance to become one for the space of a day! And I made an amazing discovery at the photo session: In English, if you switch the 'L' to the end of LANGE it becomes 'ANGEL'. In French, you just need to add an apostrophe to change it to 'L'ANGE'. This adds extra charm to the photo!"
After Julia Mancuso in 2007, Resi Stiegler in 2008, Maria Hoefl-Riesch in 2009, Manuela Moelgg in 2010, Dominique Gisin in 2011, Federica Brignone in 2012 and Lara Gut in 2013, LANGE is proud to accompany Tina Maze this winter in her quest for new successes on the world stage and at the Sochi Olympic Games.
