Six Bulgarian national racers will present Bulgaria at the 40th Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Championships, which will be opened tonight in the French ski resort Val d'Isere. Our best female skier Maria Kirkova will put the start to the Bulgarian participation on February 6.
Killian Albrecht (Slalom), Stefan Georgiev (slalom and combination), as well as the debutants Georgi Georgiev (slalom and combination), Kiril Manolov (giant slalom) and Nikola Chongarov (giant slalom) will be the male representatives of Bulgaria.
The first nationals to start in Val D'Isere will be Stefan Georgiev and Georgi Georgiev who will ski in combination for February 9.
"We hope for a good ranking in the slalom and the combinations", Georgi Bobev, the vice-president of the Bulgarian Ski Federation, announced.
At the last Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Championships in Are in 2007 the Bulgarian Kilian Albrecht finished 13 in the slalom, which was the best Bulgarian performance in the discipline from the Alpine Ski World Championships.
