The recent FIS Calendar Conference in Portoroz (SLO) saw the formation of a new Freestyle Snowboard Task Force together with TTR Pro Snowboarding to cooperate on future strategies for competitive freestyle snowboarding.
The formation of the task force is a continuation of a recent collaboration between TTR and FIS which began in autumn of 2010 in order to find ways to optimize both tour calendars. Jeremy Forster, Director, US Snowboarding, will chair the task force, which will be composed of key members of the snowboard community including Uwe Beier, FIS Snowboard Race Director, Roberto Moresi, FIS Assistant Race Director, Reto Lamm, TTR President, and Maria McNulty, TTR Executive Board Member, as well as riders, national representatives, judges and coaches. The immediate focus for the group will be to work on the coordination of global calendars for competitive freestyle snowboarding.
Uwe Beier, FIS Snowboard Race Director commented: "FIS very much looks forward to further building this partnership that has already shown its value for the future development of snowboarding. We greatly appreciate the positive atmosphere of the cooperation and are focused on finding solutions to ensure the best promotion and opportunities for our sport."
