08 Август 2011 - 16:16 Freeskiing movie `Nothing Else Matters` The Legs of Steel crew present a film about `the wildest of Europe`s finest skiers`
RED BULL VIDEO. Following their debut film The Pilot, which terrified and thrilled us, and tickled our funny bones in equal measure, the Legs Of Steel crew have been back up the mountains and off-piste to make a brand new film, Nothing Else Matters. Few adventure sport films released this year will leave you feeling so breathless...
Best friends, housemates and now partners in movie-making, Bene Mayr, Paddy Graham, Tobi Reindl and Thomas Hlawitschka star in a film that's as much about their improbable dashes through the powder and their bone-shaking tumbles as it is the way rising filmmaker Andre Nutini has caught the action with his high-end cinematography and precise camera work.
Throughout this exhilarating film, set for release in the autumn, the flatmates are joined in the virgin snow, up mountains in the Austrian Alps and jumping their impressive self-built ramps by Sven Kueenle, Fabio Studer and Max Hill, plus rising stars Lucas and Tobi Mangold – all of them experiencing their fair share of powder-spraying wipeouts. Bene even dislocates his shoulder at one point, and takes a huge tumble on some concealed rocks. But being among the world's top freeskiers, these guys are bonkers and the injuries they pick up are all part of the fun.
Most of the action takes place in Austria and then, when the powder doesn't offer these skiers the right sort of rides, they shift location to British Columbia in Canada. And throughout it all – during the heart-in-mouth jumps, the breathtaking slaloms across dramatic landscapes and the frankly terrifying grand finale – is a pumping soundtrack comprising the housemates' favourite music: devil-worshipping metal. Black Sabbath, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Motörhead and more. Nothing else could partner the thrills and spills quite so appropriately.
Canadian filmmaker Andre Nutini is now a fully-fledged member of the Legs of Steel crew and he even lived with the four skiers during filming. This allowed him to film some sneaky behind-the-scenes footage for a series of webisodes. Get in the mood for Nothing Else Matters...
