SKI CROSS. Bolstered by its experience organising a number of French and European Ski Cross Cups, the resort of Val Thorens is taking one step up the podium and welcoming the FIS Ski Cross World Cup from the 17th to the 19th of December 2012.

The Ski Cross World Cup
Val Thorens will welcome the Ski Cross World Cup the 17, 18 and 19 December 2012. A cross between Alpine and freestyle skiing, ski cross is simple and easy for spectators to follow, which is why the discipline inspires such enthusiasm. Skiing on a Boardercross zone: an undulating run punctuated with banked turns and a series of snow modules that require the skier to jump. The skiers take off on impressive distances and the battle for the first place rages, transforming the competitors into real gladiators of snows. Suspense, Action, Emotion, the Ski Cross possesses all the ingredients of a real Show!

In preparation for the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, the best riders in the whole world will be in attendance, including the winners of the 2012 World Cup (1st: Filip FLISAR (Slovenia) - 2nd: Brady LEMAN (Canada) - 3rd: Alex FIVA (Switzerland) and Val Thorens native, Jean Frédérique Chapuis.
