SWIX SKI CLASSICS. Jørgen Aukland (Team Xtra Personell) won for the second year in a row Marcialonga, when the 40th edition of the Italian race were held today. He showed exceptional strength and defeated everyone in the last uphill, La Cascata, in todays Swix Ski Classics race.

It was a close race until the last uphill 3K from the finish, but Jørgen being one of the favourites showed his strength and capabilities to cope with the pressure and win also this year’s Marcialonga. After him came his team mates, Stanislav Resac on second place and Anders Aukland finished third. Team Xtra Personell did an impressive performance today and the Aukland brothers are now sharing the pole position of Swix Ski Classics after two out of six races.

Seraina Boner (Team Coop) took the lead from the start and won the women’s competition with a good margin. This is the second time she competes in Marcialonga and her second victory. She kept her competitors on a safe distance and climbed up the last hill showing an impressive strength. Second came Laila Kveli (Team Xtra Personell) and third Tatyana Yambaeva (Team Vitargo).

The Swix Ski Classics Team Competition is fronted of Team Xtra Personell, second Team Coop, third is Vitargo. In the Swix Ski Classics youth women competition Laila Kveli has taken the lead and Christoffer Callesen in the men´s competition. Simen Østensen also Team Xtra Personell is now the leader of the Sprint Competion and will wear the Swix Ski Classics Sprint jersey in König Ludwig Lauf next weekend.
