FIS CALENDAR CONFERENCE VARNA 2015. The FIS Calendar Conference has begun with the first meetings today in Varna (BUL). More than 750 representatives of the extended FIS family are gathering at Hotel International Casino &Tower Suites, that promises beautiful sunshine and blue skies, to attend a variety of meetings during the next days.
The first conference day has included several Committee and Coordination Group meetings including the Cross-Country Executive Board, the Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard Coordination Groups and the PR & Mass Media Committee. Some forty additional meetings will follow in the coming days.
Alongside the meetings on Friday, there will be a briefing with the Candidates for the 2020 and 2021 FIS World Ski Championships. Saturday will feature the fourth edition of the World Cup Organisers' Seminar for all-FIS disciplines as the main event, with the topic of “Bringing More Value to your Event”, whilst the schedule also on.
The FIS Calendar Conference will be followed by a meeting of the FIS Council on Sunday, 7th June. The most important items on the Council’s Agenda will include proposals from the Technical Committees that come out of their meetings, including confirmation of the FIS World Cup schedules for the 2015/16 season, appointment of technical officials at major events, membership applications from new National Ski Associations and the appointment of the host for the 51st FIS Congress in 2018.
