FIS CALENDAR CONFERENCE VARNA 2015. Revision of the Ski Cross Qualification Procedures and Course Criteria:
The Freestyle Skiing Committee approved the qualification procedures for ski cross which can now include running heats from the beginning of the event, versus performing a seeding run. Regarding the vertical drop course criteria, it was decided to modify the range to also permit shorter ‘sprint’ courses.
Adjustments and Modifications to the Dual Mogul Event
It was decided to allow the position of last air bumps/jump in dual moguls at the end of the course, or in its present location.
The jump/take-off criteria, in terms of jump size and landing length, was increased.
Tie-breaking procedures based upon a comparison of scores of the eliminated skiers will now be used to determine the rankings.
Revisions to the Moguls Team Event
Modification of the rules concerning the moguls team event now further defines the entries, scoring and operational procedures. Teams are now allowed to have substitute competitors and there is only one team per nation, with one additional team allowed for the host.
Mogul and Aerials Scoring Procedures
It was decided that the high and low elements will be dropped from the different components making up the total score, instead of dropping the high and low from the total scores.
Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Coordinating Meeting
The Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Coordination Group met and revised certain common procedures for FIS points, Technical Delegate educational requirements and competition categories.
The group is planning to have joint Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Advisory Groups for cross, pipe, and slope events, which are shared between the two disciplines.
