After the Olympic Games the World championships are the second major event of the Alpine skiing. They are less representative than the World cup to judge real qualities of the skiers: a crystal cup is gained by ten races run on different tracks, under multiple conditions. Nevertheless a title of World champion is a high fact in the career of a sportsman.

February 1 2003 will open the World championships in St.Moritz (Switzerland). The first races will start on february 2nd with the men Super-G on a course whose layout was studied to be particularly spectacular. The favourites have as names Kjetil Andre Aamodt, Marco Buechel, Didier Cuche, Didier Defago, Stephan Eberharter, Hermann Maier and many others which can ram the pawn to them.
The American Daron Rahlves - champion in title - did not mark more than 14 points in the discipline this season. But hiss great results downhill could be worth us a surprise if he is aligned at the start. Until February 16 we will live at the rhythm of the Swiss clock. It is an event not to be missed. The year 2003 is particularly rich for the Alpine skiing.
