Italy's Karen Putzer won the women's race in 1:21.77 for her second victory of the season. Germany's Martina Ertl and Austria's Alexandra Meissnitzer tied for second, 0.58 back. "It's great to win on such a difficult and fast course, I had nothing to lose," said Putzer, who moved into second in the overall standings with 1,000 points, 570 points behind Janica Kostelic of Croatia. Montillet topped the Super G standings with 493 points, and Austria's Renate Goetschl was second at 458.

"I just wanted a safe run," Montillet said. "It was a great day for me. The Super G is the nicest discipline, I think. You ski with instinct." Goetschl finished fourth Thursday and was followed by teammate and world champion Michaela Dorfmeister, 1.02 back.
