Austrian Wolfgang Loitzl is the new world champion on the normal hill. This season's Four-Hills-Tournament winner, who was second after the first round, won the competition on the HS 100 at Liberec 2009 with jumps of 103.5 m and 99 m. After winning four gold medals in team events, this was the first individual title for the 29-year-old and also the first individual gold medal for Austria since 1991.
Overall World Cup leader Gregor Schlierenzauer, also from Austria, finished second. Swiss Simon Ammann won the bronze medal. Defending champion Adam Malysz came in 22nd.
