Kilian Albrecht palced 3rd at Europa Cup slalom in Wittenburg

Wittenburg, 18.11.2009 (LifePR) -- Hans Olsson hat den 1. FIS Europacup der Herren im Van der Valk alpincenter Hamburg - Wittenburg gewonnen. Der 25- jährige schwedische Skirennläufer setzte sich am Dienstag (17.11. 2009) mit der Bestzeit von 1:12,22 Min. aus über 120 Läufern aus über 25 Nationen, u. a. aus Finnland, Schweden, Frankreich, Island, USA und Australien durch. Die weiteren Podestplätze belegten Axel Baeck (Schweden - 1:12,40 Min.) sowie Kilian Albrecht (Bulgarien - 1:12,83 Min.).

Markus Waldner, FIS Rennkommissar, zeigte sich am Rande der Veranstaltung voller Lob. " Wir haben hier nicht nur ideale Wettkampfbedingungen vorgefunden sondern vor allem auch eine professionelle Betreuung und Organisation des Rennens. Wir sind überaus zufrieden". Auch der Vizepräsident des Verbandes der Hamburger Skivereine (VHSV) Marc Pampuch war begeistert.

"Damit ist Wittenburg endgültig auf der Weltkarte des alpinen Skisports angekommen."

Am Freitag sind nun die Damen an der Reihe. An den Start gehen dann wiederum über 100 Profi-Läuferinnen aus über 20 Nationen, u. a. aus Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz, Italien, Frankreich, Japan, Schweden oder Andorra. Besucher haben wieder den ganzen Tag in einem speziell eingerichteten Zuschauerbereich in der Halle bzw. durch die Panoramafenster exklusiv die Gelegenheit, die internationale Elite in diesem Sport hautnah zu erleben. Bereits am Vortag (19.11.) können die Teams zudem bei einem öffentlichen Training bestaunt werden. Am Abend steigt für Sportler und alle Besucher des alpincenters auch eine spezielle FIS Europacup-Party.

Das Van der Valk alpincenter finanziert als Veranstalter des Europacups die Rennen, das Preisgeld sowie die Unterkünfte und die Verpflegung der Athleten. Darüber hinaus wurde der FIS Europacup vom Norddeutschen Rundfunk Schwerin, Norwegen - Tourismus, der Ludwigsluster Fleisch- und Wurstwaren GmbH sowie dem Audi Zentrum Schwerin großzügig unterstützt.

Mit 150 Profirennteams aus über 30 Nationen verzeichnete das alpincenter in diesem Sommer einen neuen Rekord. Weltstars wie Bode Miller, Benjamin Raich, Felix Neureuther oder Maria Riesch haben in Wittenburg bereits trainiert. Dabei loben die Profisportler und Skiverbände die ausgezeichneten sportlichen Bedingungen und die zahlreichen weiteren Möglichkeiten des alpincenters. Erstmals in der Geschichte des Österreichischen Skiverbandes (ÖSV) fand in diesem Sommer auch ein erstes gemeinsames Trainingscamp mit 250 Athleten statt.
