Thanks to his double victory in Kitzbühel's super-G and downhill, Didier Cuche has overtaken his teammate Carlo Janka atop the current Alpine prize money rankings. With the prize money of CHF 180'000 Cuche has so far earned CHF 289'100 this Audi FIS Ski World Cup season. Showing great leadership, Cuche donated 20% of his Kitzbühel winnings (CHF 30'000) to help the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Haiti will also receive all the funds raised from a bid auction that the racers put together both in Kitzbühel (men) and Cortina (ladies). Current value of the bids already exceeds Euro 30'000. Bidding will continue on eBay until 31st January. Click HERE to see the men's bids on offer (note. Didier Cuche's winner bib is bidding at more than Euro 11'000!) and HERE for the ladies.
However, with eight victories and another three podium places so far, the highest season earnings so far have been collected by Lindsey Vonn, who leads the ladies ranking with CHF 331'950. She is followed by Maria Riesch and Kathrin Zettel.
