Until today my best result was a ninth place”, so the Swedish snowboarder further on. Although he didn’t make it on the podium Stefan Falkeis was pleased with his sixth rank: “Today, I did really well. I’m satisfied with the result because normally I only ride halfpipe.” In contrast, Alessandro Boyens was disappointed with the tenth place after winning the qualification: “I don’t know which mistakes I did. In the training everything is going fine but in the final I’m unable to stick my jumps!”

Snowboard PGS Maribor, Slovenia Daniela Meuli and Philipp Schoch make a Swiss double victory in Maribor
The Swiss team is still top in the Parallel World Cup: Daniela Meuli and Philipp Schoch have won the third Parallel Giant Slalom of the NOKIA Snowboard FIS World Cup 2004/2005. In the women’s final, Meuli relegated Austrian Doris Guenther to the second spot. Guenther therefore celebrated her season’s best World Cup result. Heidi Neururer (AUT) came in third in front of 17 years-old German Amelie Kober.
In the men’s competition at Slovenian Maribor, Schoch successfully competed against his fellow countryman Urs Eiselin who risked too much in the second run of the final and fell a few times. In the small final, Nicolas Huet (FRA) crossed the finish line in front of the winner’s older brother Simon Schoch.
“Today, everything was fine. The slope and the weather made me board really well. That motivated me so much that I just could go faster”, said Parallel World Cup leader Philipp Schoch. Daniela Meuli explained after the final: “Today, it was superb. But in the final I noticed my legs.” Asked for the Yellow Bib of the World Cup leader the rider from Davos answered: “I don’t want to give it away again. I like the colour and I think it fits me pretty good.” Doris Guenther was all smiles stepping back on the podium after waiting for a top spot for almost one year: “I’m so happy now. The last races and the WCS didn’t turn out good so I’m glad with my second rank. It brings back my self esteem!” After her career’s first small final Amelie Kober said: “I hoped to make it one time but I didn’t expect it today. In the final I did some mistakes due to some head problems. But I’m very pleased with the result.”
