The blue and red pistes around the Ahorn plateau provide unforgettable ski experiences especially suited to recreational skiers, beginners and families. Although its name may suggest otherwise, the panorama runs on the Action Mountain Penken can actually offer relaxed skiing and snowboarding experiences, especially on the pistes near the six seater Gerent and Unterbergalm chair lifts. Those who want a more relaxed approach to their holiday should discover the leisurely side of the ski resort with one of the many tour options: the Penken beginners’ tour is ideal for novices and provides perfect practice opportunities exclusively on blue pistes. The Ahorn family tour is another great way to start to a skiing holiday and guides you up to the Igloo Village White Lounge where comfortable deck chairs invite you to chill out in the sun. The Ahorn panorama trail also runs past the White Lounge – and is an absolute must for anyone who prefers to enjoy some breathtaking views of the Zillertal Alps and the Stilluptal Valley during a winter hike.

SIT BACK, RELAX AND ENJOY
The White Lounge with its Igloo Bar is the official Mayrhofner Bergbahnen chill-out-area: anyone looking to take some time out from the pistes can relax while enjoying refreshing drinks and chilled lounge music. After sunset, the White Lounge transforms into a cosy igloo hotel, with seven suites for spending the night at 2,000 metres. As skiing works up quite an appetite, the Café-Bistro Freiraum on the Ahorn plateau awaits you as a stop-off point with a difference: the award-winning building’s timelessly elegant design and cosy fireplace ambience invite you to enjoy some tasty little delicacies. ‘Dinner on the Ahorn’ is an unforgettable evening held every Wednesday when guests can end their day with a delicious fondue in the Freiraum.

CONVENIENT ACCESS TO THE MOUNTAINS
Ultra-modern lifts ensure smooth transfers between the mountains and the valleys in the Mayrhofen ski resort. On the Ahorn, Austria’s largest cable car takes just 6.5 minutes to transport up to 160 people to the Ahorn plateau at almost 2,000 metres. On the Penken, the chair lift and cable car in one has provided a convenient form of transport since 2010. Alternating between eight-seat chair lifts and 10-seat cable cars, it is extremely practical for ski school groups and families. If the weather plays nice in autumn, these convenient services will also be supplemented by the Ebenwald detachable six-seater chair lift this season. Equipped with bubbles, heated seats and self-locking overhead bars, this is particularly child and beginner friendly. There is therefore nothing that prevents you from a unique and unforgettable leisurely skiing holiday in the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region.
