АЛПИЙСКИ СКИ СВЕТОВНА КУПА. The cold weather last week in Northern Finland has helped the organizers at Levi to proceed with the snow-making for the Levi Black piste where the season's Slalom Opening will be contested on 12th-14th November. The current situation is promising and event preparations are at full speed.

Final confirmation for the races will be given on Thursday when the International Ski Federation FIS will conduct the official snow control.
"We will know for sure when Hans Pieren, FIS Race Director for the men's technical events, arrives on site to check the course and the snow conditions. It is looking very good, however," said Mikko Saarinen, Secretary General of the Levi World Cup.

The snow-making team at Levi took full advantage of the cold weather on the weekend. The team was working hard to create the best possible conditions already for the official snow control on Thursday. After the snow control the piste will be injected to make sure it will harden and hold for all the competitors. During the injection the unit weight of the snow will be increased from 400g to 700g per liter through injection of water.
"The experienced crew from the Levi Resort was able to leverage to 100% the ideal weather conditions to produce snow and we can now see this on the competition course," added Saarinen.
