Super Borovets Project Goes for Cabinet Approval
The concept draft of the mega resort complex Super Borovets will be deposited for consideration at the Council of Ministers next week after the environment impact report is now ready, the Sofia District Governor Olimpi Kutev said.
It will be good for the resort in the Rila Mountains to build tracks for extreme winter sports, a snowboard track and so-called family tracks for combined skiing of primary and advanced skiers, according to the recommendations of the French association France Neige Internacional.
The French association unifying 40 companies with activities in all kinds of winter resorts visited Bulgaria to advise the advocates of the ambitious project on the ways to develop the tourist destination Samokov-Borovets-Beli Iskar.
The mega project Super Borovets seeks to find alternative options of overcoming the seasonal nature of local tourism and extend the capacity of winter tourism in Bulgaria. Italian businesses have been keen to Bulgarian partnerships at investment-sensitive areas, especially in luxury and five-star hotel building, as part of the project.
