ALPINE SKI. Atomic and Marcel Hirscher announced Wednesday that they have prolonged their cooperation for four years, until 2016. “Skis, boots, binding, goggles and helmet – I was not even close to considering any alternatives to Atomic“, said the overall World Cup leader shortly before his 23th birthday.
“There are two philosophies in skiing. Either you adapt to the material you are offered – this is the rule. Or you are offered material that is individually adapted to you – this is Atomic,“ summarized Marcel Hirscher the cooperation with his material supplier of many years. Hirscher explained that there were no other sport where the influence and importance of the equipment was this fascinating. “We keep questioning every single details of the material all the time, but the final product is the result of precise handicraft. This is ingenious. There is not one single day where we do not try to improve the setup. This is an incredible effort for all persons involved and without this, considering my style of racing, successes would not be possible. I need partners who are a bit like my dad and me – and everyone we work with at Atomic is a bit like us. The whole company is on the same wavelength.“
The new contract covers the FIS World Ski Championships in Schladming 2013, the Olympic Games in Sochi 2014 and the FIS World Ski Championships in Vail/Beaver Creek 2015.
