SKI INDUSTRY. No less than 9.3 million Euros are being invested by SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental for the coming winter season: modernised facilities, expansion and improvement of the snow equipment, and new attractions for even more fun and enjoyable experiences during winter holidays. Millions invested wisely to make the "best ski resort in the world" (SkiWelt has already been awarded this title four times) even better.
Salvenbahn Hopfgarten
Many new features will arouse the desire for a holiday in the largest combined ski resort in Austria: the 4.5-kilometre-long Astberg toboggan run in SkiWelt Ellmau/Going will get its own artificial snow-making equipment and lighting, so that winter pleasures can also continue long after the après-ski.
Snow is guaranteed: Construction of new 90,000 m³ Snowmaking, bathing and sauna pond in Söll
A completely new Funslope Area for all freestylers on skis and boards will attract the kids to Hochsöll this winter. No fewer than three new Funslopes with a combined surface area of over five hectares will offer 40 Kickers and Rails of all degrees of difficulty, from beginners right up to pro level. Beginners will have their own Funslope at the Salvenmoospiste, and there will be a beginners and medium level run at the Rinnerabfahrt.
There will also be modernisation this winter at the Stöckl chairlift in Söll: the lift is to be completely renovated and it will have new child safety features. This will ensure that the Hochsöll ski paradise, which is the particular favourite of families and ski schools, will be even more family-friendly. Four ultra-modern and very powerful Pistenbully ski slope-maintenance vehicles of the latest generation will be driving their tracks through the snow to create even better ski slopes: two in Scheffau, one in Brixen and one in Hopfgarten. There are now no fewer than 69 Pistenbullys in total in SkiWelt maintaining perfect pistes. There is also of course more investment this winter to give even greater guaranteed snow: with the building of the new Hohe Salve reservoir and the expansion of the snow-making equipment at all SkiWelt locations, the ski slopes will have even more guaranteed snow and be more convenient, even on the sunny side of the slopes.
Südhang from the top
The ongoing improvements are paying dividends: in 2012 SkiWelt was chosen for the second running by ADAC Ski Guide as the Austrian Winner of the Ski Pass Index: the award for the best price-to-performance ratio in the heart of the Alpine winter sport world.
