Incredibly, but fact! NOKIA Snowboard FIS World Cup Big Air Sofia 2007 happened with unseen might and beauty! And the winner is... Stefan Gimpl !!!!!

All riders, the spokespersons of FIS and the foreign teams told that the good organization and the spirit of FIS big air have not been seeing so far insomuch !!!
Historic night for Bulgaria and for the bulgarian snowboard as well! Imposing atmosphere, live music, the impressive illumination and the largely incredible implementations of the world snowboard magicians made the frame of mind of the multitude public to glow until red!
The Big Air snowboard contest, the third round from the FIS World cup, happened on saturday night, December 22, 2007 on "Alexander I Batenberg" square in the center of Sofia city in front of over 10 000 onlookers that fulfilled to end use limit entire space at square. Besides, the race was being looked at from millions-spectators by the entire world, due to the live broadcasting upon Eurosport, Bulgarian National TV and the satellite's channel "Bulgaria" apart.
The Austrian Stefan Gimpl is the winner. The Austrian made a fantastic performance on the finals and won the first place. Janne Korpi from Finland, the winner of the last competition in Stockholm, opened with a “Cab 10”. Gimpl was responded with the same trick and a better landing earning just one point off the best possible score of 30 points.

The 11 250 CHF check was presented to the austrian personally from the metropolitan mayor General Boyko Borisov that is as well president of organisation committee of the World cup in Sofia. Plenty of personalities from the bulgarian sport society was attended at the contest, including the president of "State Agency for Youth and Sport" mrs. Vesela Lecheva and the president of the "Bulgarian Olympic Commetee" mrs. Stefka Kostadinova.
Second ranked the leader of the temporarily position Janne Korpi from Finland. In the Slovenian battle for third, Matevz Petek beat his countryman Domen Bizjak.

"Bulgarian snowboard fans are amazing", stated the winner Stefan Gimpl. "I want to wish them a lot of snowboarding and having fun. I am pleased from the whole organization and conditions in Sofia, it was all on very high level", shared Gimpl.
The president of BFSki mr. Tzeko Minev honored special award to the director of FIS World snowboard cup mr. Marcel Looze.
Bulgarian best freestyle racer that is as well the bulgarian national team head coach of the freestyle snowboard Mario Benio places 19-th. The rest of bulgarian riders: Angel Harizanov, Dimitar Chokoev and Kristian Malinov dropped respectively to 39, 41 and 45 place.
Altogether 45 snowboarders from 14 countries participated.

But the winner was not only Gimpl. It won entire Bulgaria from the unique event! The high estimate on the organization of the race in Sofia from all riders, foreign guests and the official persons from FIS give the big hopes for the future of Bulgaria to the stage of snowboard's universe!
