ALPINE SKI. The Italian team continues to amaze and conquer successes on successes. It is again Federica Brignone's turn who, unlike St.Moritz's Super g race, reverses the podium and excels over Sofia Goggia.
Fourteen are the successes of Brignone that slowly approaches the most winning Italian skiers in history: Isolde Kostner with 15 and Deborah Compagnoni with 16 World Cup victories.
For Federica, this is a historic day not only because she won Rosa Khutor first race after Sochi Olympics but mainly because for the first time in her career she wears the Super G red bib.
Brignone became the fourth different winner of a women's super-G this season, after Viktoria Rebensburg, Goggia and Shiffrin won the previous events. This victory sent her at the top of the super g standing by 16 points over Corinne Suter (SUI) and 20 ahead of Mikaela Shiffrin (USA).
Sofia Goggia who returned after missing the last two races with a right leg injury following a downhill crash in Bansko has been able to her second seasonal podium after St.Moritz Super G victory ahead of her teammate Brignone.
The other protagonist of the is Joana Haehlen (SUI) finished 0.34 behind the Italian duo in third for her second career podium, a week after conquering her first downhill World Cup podium.
