It was the night of the Olympic runner-ups as with Amelie Kober and Simon Schoch, two silver medalists of the 2006 Winter Games in Torino took home victory in the last parallel race before the World Championships in Korea. The German rider was able to beat Tomoka Takeuchi (JPN) in the ladies final. In the small final, Heidi Neururer (AUT) crossed the finish line ahead of Michelle Gorgone (USA). On the men's side, it was time for a final of reigning World Champions in the season's third Parallel Slalom of the 2009 LG Snowboard FIS World Cup. Under floodlight, the Swiss PSL title holder Schoch had the better end edging 2007 PGS World Champion Rok Flander from Slovenia to the second spot.
