ANTALYA, Turkey - The United States, teaming with Canada and New Zealand was successful in getting slopestyle and team snowboard cross as a discipline in the World Championships effective in 2011.
The events will are being target toward inclusion in the Olympic winter games. Both have been run successfully in World cup events. The events may possibly be included in the 2011 World Championships.
In addition the congress decided to increase the number of second-run starters in Alpine World Championships and to add a nordic "tour" championship in the non-championship years. It will be modeled on the very successful FIS "Tour de Ski." The first event will be held in 2012 and will be subject to current FIS statues for championship events.
