ALPINE SKI WORLD CUP. VAL D’ISERE, France – It looks like the World Cup ladies will have to continue waiting for their second super G of the season, as the race in Val d’Isere on Friday was cancelled due to weather.
There were about 30 centimeters of fresh snow on the ground in town in Val d’Isere Friday morning with several more accumulated on the mountain. The race, originally scheduled for 10:30 a.m. was pushed back to 1:30 p.m. But as snow continued to fall and was also accompanied by very strong winds, officials canceled the race.
The super G was to replace last weekend’s cancelation in St. Moritz. A new rescheduled date and place have not yet been determined.
The FIS Audi World Cup women’s downhill is still scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Val d’Isere.
