ROLLER SKI. Second day of Toppidrettsveka in Aure was fully packed with action. In the Wednesday morning athletes competed on 38 MTB race. Borghild Løvset won on the ladies’ side ahead of Cross-Country specialists Vibeke Skofterud and Marthe Kristofersen.
Among men Jo Thorsen Nordskar from Team United Bakeries was superior and by 2:39.3 sec beat Martin Andersen. Winnner of the day 1 of Toppridrettsveka Jean Marc Gaillard proved to be strong MTB racer and score third place.
In the afternoon the competition program continued with classical rollerskiing sprint. Norwegian athletes prevailed and claimed all podium places.
Double World Champion Ola Vigen Hattestad proved his sprint might and dominated the final heat. Hattestad edged out double FIS Rollerski World Champion from this week Petter Northug and Simen Oestensen.
Unbeatable Marit Bjoergen has been in great summer shape and scored yesterday another victory. Queen of the World Champoionships in Oslo dominated classical sprint ahead of Slovenian sprint specialist Katja Visnar and Celine Brun-Lie (NOR).
This Toppidrettsveka ends today with the running competition and pursuit.
