ENTERTAINMENT. Most sports disciplines regularly release annual sports centric calendars which showcase the best of their field. The skiing sport is not different; the Women’s limited edition of the 2012 skiinstructors calendar is out.

The meticulously grafted and exquisite calendar has been put together by acclaimed designers; Thomas Ebster and Gerhard Lucian. Thomas Ebster is from Vorarlberg, Austria; making this calendar much more special for the Austrian ski community. The calendar showcases Ski instructors, coming from 10 different countries, at their best in an athletic setting.

American Gold medalist Julia Mancuso graces this year’s cover of the women’s 2012 Ski instructor Calendar. Mancuso spoke about her appearance on the calender’s cover by saying “I should feel proud that I grace the cover of the new calendar, the calendar is very aesthetically pleasing and not primarily to show-off.”

The cover shoot took place at Reiteralm, Austria. The rest of the calendar was shot at location in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany; which is where the 2011 FIS Ski World Cup was held. Schladming-Dachstein, Syria; where the 2013 FIS Ski World Cup is to be held and in Lech and Zürs on Arlberg in Austria also hosted part of the calendar shoot. Lech and Zuers, Austria is the birth place of the enthralling ski calendar.

Former ski racer who is now an acclaimed photographer, Hurbert von Hohnlohe, and Florian Herzog are the brains behind the action-packed ski calendar. The calendar holds a cult-like fan base amongst the skiing community. The calendar is a definite must have, for every ski enthusiast and it is a great gift to give to a die-hard ski fan.

The calendar has been out from the 3rd of October and it retails for EUR 39, 90.
