TOURISM AND INDUSTRY. The 22nd Trade Fair of Regions and Tourist Products TOUR SALON was held on 19-22 October. This year’s event attracted 750 companies from 43 countries, including Armenia, Austria, Belarus, Brazil, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Egypt, France, Greece, Georgia, Spain, India, Ireland, Israel, Jordan, Japan, Kenya, Lithuania, Morocco, Mexico, Germany, Norway, Palestine, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Russia, Romania, Slovakia, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, USA, Hungary, Great Britain, Italy.
Almost 30,000 attendees visited the show on the four days, while half of them came on the first two days addressed solely to professionals from the tourist sector.
Visitors to TOUR SALON could admire expositions on the area exceeding 8,000 m2 with the latest offers of travel agencies and tour operators, all Polish and many foreign regions, owners and managers of accommodation facilities, carriers, online services and publishing companies.
This year’s TOUR SALON has shown once again that the trade fair is, on the one hand, about strengthening the corporate image, informing about new offers and, on the other hand, about face-to-face business that ends with a handshake. TOUR SALON is also a venue for meeting experts and for exchanging experiences.
The expositions were accompanied by a rich programme of events. Many visitors participated in the two-day conference entitled Travel 2.0 during which independent experts and practitioners shared their knowledge about e-marketing with representatives of the tourism and hotel industry. A conference about EURO 2012 was another interesting event, as were seminars about topics that attracted tourists, i.e. “The art of cheap flying”, “Safe trip. How to prepare yourself?” and “Annoyance in tourism. Group shopping and social media.” Wojciech Cejrowski was the special guest of TOUR SALON.
As always, the show was the venue for the Festival of Tourist and Sightseeing Books and the Poznań Festival of Travel and Photography.
The MTP Gold Medals for the best tourist products and ACANTHUS AUREUS awards for the stands that best reflect corporate marketing strategies were presented at TOUR SALON. Medals commemorating the 90th anniversary of Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie were also presented.
Morocco was the Partner Country of Tour Salon 2011. It is visited by more and more tourists, but it is still mysterious, magical and tempting with the flavour of oriental spices. The Partner Region of Tour Salon was Zachodniopomorskie – a region abounding in woods, lakes, seaside cliffs and great sandy beaches.
Tour Salon 2011 was held under the auspices of the Minister of Sports and Tourism, the Mayor of Poznań, the Polish Chamber of Tourism and the Polish Tourist Organisation.
The next Trade Fair of Regions and Tourist Products TOUR SALON on 24-27 October 2012!
