Lindsey Vonn has confirmed she will not require surgery on her sore knees. She had doctors examine her tender knees back home in Vail this week including an MRI check.
Vonn announced: "My right knee looks good. Left knee has some fraying of meniscus but no tear and cartilage has some wear but no tearing either. Just need some good old fashioned rest!! My dr and I are going to keep a close eye on it to make sure that I'm ready for next season. We've always kept a close eye on an old tibial plateau fracture I had when I was a teenager, things are looking great considering."
Vonn clinched her fourth overall World Cup trophy this season and added the super-G, downhill and super combined event crystal globes to her collection. She ended the season with a new ladies' record point total of 1,980, just 20 points short of Hermann Maier's all time record mark of 2,000 points.
